3rd generation mobile telecommunications ( 3 G ), is a generation of standards for mobile phones and mobile telecommunications services. 3G can also provide mobile broadband access of several Mbit/s to smartphones and mobile modems in laptop computers.
Idea Cellular, Aircell and Tata Docomo are the licence holders to run 3G services in Kerala
Tata Docomo has launched 3G services in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam/ Cochin only, where as
AirCel has launched its 3G services in Ernakulam / Cochin only
