Scheduling of Additional Auto Detailing or Mobile Car Wash Units
If you own a mobile car wash business or auto detailing business then you realize that when you are parked working you are making money and when you are stuck in traffic you are losing money. Sure you can say when you are in traffic people see you and write down the phone number, but you are not making money, that is potential future income, which is work you still must do in the future. Many auto detailers do not schedule properly and therefore get into trouble in that they attempt to expand before they have maximized their schedules. This is the key to making sure that your additional mobile detailing rig or mobile car wash truck makes a profit. The only reason you should expand is to provide more timely service to your clients and make a profit. You should expand if you are sure you will make more money You should expand if you think the customer will be better served You should expand if you know you can provide better quality and service to your clientele You should expand if that's the direction you want your ego to take (because it's a trip, take our word for it) Here is a sample schedule we show as the correct way to run your mobile car wash trucks: SAMPLE SCHEDULE OF CAR WASH TRUCK ON A MONDAY 7:00 am Wash Enterprise Rent-A-Car 9:00 am Clean Pest Control Vehicles 10:00 am Hewlett Packard Sales Meeting 12:00 pm Wash Vehicles At A Local Restaurant 1:30 pm Office Building #1 2:30 pm Office Building #2 3:30 pm Office Building #3 5:00 pm Washing Trucks At An Air Conditioning Company 6:30 pm Crews Switch 7:00 pm Wash Federal Express Vans 9:00 pm Wash Trucks For GTE Office 11:00 pm Steam Clean at Strip Mall (if you have hot water) 2:00 am Steam Clean Fast Food Restaurants Drive Through 5:00 am Drop Off Truck 7:00 am Stock Brokerage Office 8:30 am Office Building #1 10:00 am Office Building #2 11:30 am Shift Change At A Highway Patrol Office 1:30 pm Office Building #3 To schedule additional mobile car wash trucks, it is imperative that you have the additional mobile rig route before you actually get the additional unit. You should know where you are going to go, which buildings you are going to service, whose cars you are going to wash, what days you will be there and the exact times you will arrive for that entire route. You should know who you will hire as your crew and have trained the manager that will be running the route. Whether you run a mobile auto detailing business or mobile car wash you must be careful when you expand to make sure your schedules will keep you busy. Think on it. Action Planning ACTION PLANNING: Action Planning is a process to develop strategies for changes in the organization based on an analysis of the problems which precipitate the need for change. It is a collaborative method of planning which involves the people working in the organization and permits the people who will be influenced by the decisions and change to have influence on the product or outcome. Action Planning assumes that people will support that which they help to plan and create. Unless those involved are committed to that which they are changing, the plan does not have much hope for success.
