Promote Easily With The Two-Step
Here's a really simple way... to promote your online business today. It makes no difference if it is a product or a service. You can start today getting some needed exposure to your site in two simple steps. That's why I call it the "Two Step" approach. Discovering how to get visitors to your site is a steep learning curve for most. Whether you are a beginner or a veteran, it requires some work. This article gives you a simple, yet doable plan to solve your traffic problem. There are many ways to promote your site. Some cost you money. Some cost you time. Most cost you both money and time. Well, if you are like this author, I have a lot more time than money. This approach is not going to cost you any money, but you will invest some time with your efforts. Sound fair to you ? Then let's get started. Here's the first step in the "Two Step": 1) WRITE ARTICLES Articles are probably the very best way for you to get some good, targeted traffic to you site. There are many fr*ee ways to gain traffic, but none of them bring you "targeted" traffic. That's what you really need. Here is the second step in the "Two Step". 2) DISTRIBUTE YOUR ARTICLES. There are lots of ways to accomplish this. I am going to suggest a few of them. Very likely you will discover many more ways. -Send them to other publishers who are looking for fresh content. -Place them in article directories. (A simple search will locate many,) -Create an article directory on your site. -Place them in autoresponders with follow-up messages. -Send them out with snail mail messages that you are doing. The more articles you write, send out and publish to directories on line, the more exposure you will get and the more traffic you will receive. ------------------------------------------------------------ Set yourself a goal to write at least one article per week and distribute it. More often if you can do it. You will be amazed with the results, and the benefits of an article campaign can last for years and become viral as your articles are posted on other's site. Why?? Simply because they will never reach any link you provide them with, they will close the page and go on to read a different article. You can't afford to let this happen! So here's what you do about it. You keep your resource box at a maximum of 5 lines long. You tell them to visit your site for more information on that subject or to opt in for their free newsletter or report. You give them an action to take. Because as surely as you aren't specific about what it is that you want them to do next, they definitely won't do what you want them to. So unless your resource box grabs them with the same intensity as your article you can kiss those prospective buyers goodbye! Another common mistake made by newbie writers is to not make their website link an active one. This can happen when you just type www.mysite.com, instead of putting http://www.mysite.com, or whatever the full address is. In most cases people are not going to bother to take the time to copy and paste an inactive link to visit your site. So again make sure as much as you can that your link is working. It's true that some article databases don't provide this feature, but the majority of the article databases do. Try going to the article site you posted your article on, as a browser instead of logging into your writer's account. Find your article and test the link in your resource box to see if it works. If that's what your article is about, make sure the headline lets him know. 3) Don't make empty promisesSensationalized headlines may work in traditional media, but they're not so effective in online article submissions. Few things frustrate an online publisher more than being lured in by a promising headline which turns out to be nothing more than hot air. For publishers who take the time to carefully filter content before publishing, empty headlines are nothing more than time-wasters. For publishers who are a little less meticulous, empty headlines result in a site which is characterized by disjointed, contradictory, low-quality content.
